Mallory & John’s Wedding With A View – Traverse City, Michigan

There was this movie I watched once called, “27 Dresses” and I bring it up because both main characters bring up a certain point in the wedding they enjoy the most, and it happens to be one of my favorite parts as well. When the bride first appears, and everyone has their eyes on her, I like to look at the groom. I like to see his reaction to her. It’s one of my favorite moments because even though there’s an enormous crowd, she’s looking at him and he’s looking at her and for the both of them everyone else is gone. And you can tell. In that moment, it is love in its purest form.

Mallory is, in fact, my oldest friend. My sister from another mother. If Tom and I ever have children, they will call her auntie Mal. So when I saw the way John looked at her, I cried. And I’m starting to choke up right now writing this. His eyes said he was marrying the most precious, beautiful woman in the world. His smile said, “I am so lucky.”

Their wedding was an intimate celebration at her mother’s house in the woods, and it was so perfect for them. Mallory kept saying, “This is the happiest day of my life.” And by gosh, it showed. She never stopped glowing. And she probably never will, because that’s just who she is.

Mallory & John,
I wish you many more years of love and understanding.
All my love and congratulations,

Sara

Simple, sweet weddings with a soul are the BEST, aren’t they?

The over-the-top circuses are so ridiculous. THIS kind of wedding is what it’s all about.

I have two weddings that I’m attending next summer. One for my best friend, Eva and one for my best friend, Natalie. They were both in my wedding this year. We have grown up together and it makes me so happy seeing them so happy.

You really can see the love that these two share for each other: their smiles say it all. Beautiful work Sara.
